Shore Excursion Leaves From:
MAHOGANY BAY
To meet our guides, when you exit the ship, look for the taxi parking lot. Once there, make a left towards the exit gate. Walk a little bit more down the hill passing the exit gate. We will be waiting for you with the EXPLORE ROATAN sign. If you feel you cannot walk for 5 min, you can take a taxi for $2 per person to a designated meeting point down below.
PORT OF ROATAN(ROATAN VILLAGE/COXEN HOLE)
To meet our guides, when you exit the ship, look for the double stairway going to the second floor and make a right under it. You will find the tour booth section, they will aggressively try to sell an excursion, just tell them you bought one online. Once there go to the end of this section and make a left toward the exit gate. Once at the exit gate you will find several people with signs. We will be waiting with the EXPLORE ROATAN sign for you.
Recommended Dress:
Light, comfortable clothing, a swimsuit, and walking shoes are recommended. Don’t forget to bring an extra towel!
Preserving the Reef
We encourage all our visitors that will jump in the water to protect the reef by using reef-safe sunscreen and avoiding touching or damaging coral. Roatan’s reef is for all of us to enjoy, that includes future generations.
What is not Included
Food & drinks are not included in this package, luckily there are several restaurants and bars nearby. Ask your guide about their favorite spots.
Can I feed the iguanas?
Yes. You are allowed to feed them, but only as long as you follow the special instructions provided by the park guides. Iguanas have sharp claws and can bite, please give them the proper respect.
Can we add or remove a stop from the Island Tour?
Yes, if you there is something that you are interested in doing, please let your guide know as soon as possible so they can modify the schedule. Same process would apply in case you want to remove a stop from your tour.
Are Dollars accepted? What about credit/debit cards?
The US dollar is widely accepted and used through the entire island, with the exception of coins (only bills). In regards to credit/debit cards. most businesses will accept Mastercard/Visa. Please note that AMEX and Discover cards are not widely accepted.

This excursion is catered for reptile lovers! Here you will have the chance to feed and interact with one of the largest species of lizards in the region. Fun fact: did you know that green iguanas are excellent swimmers?!

First, we meet you at port for pick-up. Meeting time is 1 hour after cruise docking time(If you booked a private excursion, you can disembark earlier or later. We are there as soon as you ship docks). You will head to the Exit Gate and look for the Explore Roatan sign.
Our first stop will be -The View- at Coxen Hole. Here you will have the chance to take photos with a magnificent panoramic view as your backdrop. You will also get some time to browse at the different local souvenir stands.
Our second stop is -Iguana Park-. Here you will have the chance to hold an and feed iguanas. This park is a treasure in Roatan. It was started by the Arch family years ago and has become a must stop place when you visit. You will also see huge fish like the tarpon, jack and other species in their marina.
Soon after, we are headed to -The Chocolate Factory-, where you will receive free samples of the several artisanal chocolate flavors. Then we are headed to West End Village, which is Roatan’s busiest avenue.
Get ready to be blown away by the ocean view at -The Rum Factory-. Here you will find over 50 Rum flavors as well as many Rum Cake options.
Get your camera ready to capture the moment at -The Roatan Sign-. You will also have the chance to try the local food and drinks at the different restaurants along the way. Just tell your guide what you want to do and he will find the best options.
After all the fun, we head back to the ship. We guarantee to have you there with at least 2 hours before ship departure. Explore Roatan staff’s main goal is to do their best to guarantee your satisfaction.
Because of Covid we started offering our customers the option of making their excursion a private one for $10 US extra PP. This means you won’t be sharing a ride with another group. Our customers love this because they enjoy the excursion at their own pace and don’t feel rushed. You will see this add-on option once you start the booking process.
